May is Older American's Month. Started in 1963 there were only 17 million americans age 65 or older. Now there are over 37 million. Over 4.6 million of these individuals are still working either part time or full time. 10.5 % live in poverty. Pennslyvania has one of the highest number of older individuals with over 1.8 million. This year Governor Rendell proclaimed May to be Older Pennsylvanian's Month. In PA over 19 million dollars has been spent to help Older PA's citizens. The fiancial resources come from the PA Lottery. When you purchase a lottery ticket you are helping a Senior. So next time you are passing a fellow older american, be kind, give a helping hand, and remember you will be there one day too.

On January 6th we moved our office to Main Street in Pennsburg, PA. Stop by and pick up your Free Resource Book, or any other additional educational materials you need to assist in the care of a loved one. We have a library of books and videos on Dementia / Alzheimer's disease, Home Safety, Medication Management, plus many other topics. Our address is: 859 Main Street 1st floor, Pennburg, PA.

We are Celebrating our 10 year Anniversary...yes that is right...Family Caregivers Network is celebrating 10 years of Excellence. Watch our calendar of events for our many activities celebrating our birthday.
We are a Provider for the Montgomery, Berks, & Bucks County office on Aging for the Medicaid Waiver Program, Options, and Family Caregiver Support Program. If you feel you may qualify for funding through the state programs contact our Director to find out how to apply for these programs.
